The Rules On Men's Shoes

A lot of people believe that men simply do not care about the shoes they wear. Women think that guys just grab whatever is conveniently located near the door and then go. Contrary to this myth, men do actually value where their feet go into. It is just that men have a more traditional and conventional taste in shoes as compared to women who scramble to the nearest shoe store to get the latest there is as illustrated in the fashion magazines.

As some women have shoes to pair for each dress color classification in their closets, most men merely have one or two pairs which they can mix and match with their wardrobe. And as the metro sexual men have gathered more and more guts to come out into public with their vanity and fetishes, there is now a gradual increase of interest in men's shoes as compared to years before. Jumping on the bandwagon, fashion gurus have raised their voices and have given their opinions on what is right and what is not when it comes to men and their shoes.

The fashion police give out three general rules when it comes to men's shoes. Number one says that in picking out a shoe, keep in mind the color of your pants. The shade of the shoe should match or should be darker than the color of the pants. It has been well known that it is a fashion blunder to wear socks that does not match the shoe. However, some aficionados opine that you can get yourself excused in some cases. Just make sure that the color of the socks should not clash with the outfit but instead bring it together. The last steadfast rule is matching your shoes with your belt. Going out with the same shade of shoes and belt works best. More adventurous individuals are welcome to go funky with different colors. Albeit, it is advised that they check themselves in the mirror first before they face the crowd outside.

Nowadays, jeans are considered a staple in every person's closet. This is because jeans are comfortable and convenient as you can wear them anywhere at anytime and still look good. There is not much discussion in choosing shoes to pair up with jeans as they can work with almost anything: sandals, rubber shoes, loafers, boots, you name it. You can match jeans with sandals or flip flops for that relaxed at home feel, or you can go for the boy next door look and wear jeans with a nice polo to impress the girls. The thing to remember, nevertheless, is to avoid wearing jeans with those shiny well polished, almost gleaming shoes. This is quite understandable as the latter would rather fit with outfits that are dressier and more formal. When going casual with pants like khakis or chinos, loafers are the way to go.

Men as we know cannot be swayed into choosing a particular shoe by reason that it is more chic and fashionable, as we have come to know that the male variety always consider comfort first before anything else. This is not such a bad thing. The rules are not mandatory, it is suffice that these look good and feel good with the support beneath their feet.
